The Lady Gaga book...not surprised

This was bound to happen.
Lizzy Goodman, a former staff writer at Rolling Stone and contributing journalist for New York Magazine has finally written the Lady Gaga book.
Documenting on all of Lady Gaga's favorite designers, sunglasses, shoes, etc. all in full, glossy color.

The Gaga book releases this September 14.

"Lady Gaga likes to get naked" writes Goodman.
If she hasn't noticed yet...

Nice, Lady Gaga

Seriously? Gaga banned from the Yankee clubhouse? I really don't see the big deal.
She's supporting her favorite baseball team.
I know she flipped the finger to the Mets (okay, not okay with that), but how many people probably do that anyway? It's only because she's famous and um, pantless that caused such a stir.

Downtown LES !
Striped bleached denim shirt: church flea market (25 cents!)
floral print shorts: Forever 21
Bright orange cross body bag: Thrifted
Striped shoes: Thrifted ($4!)
Goes to show that fashion isn't about the price.
It's about what you like and how you wear it.

The new It bag

I'm getting my first tattoo!

It’s official.
I’m getting a tattoo.
Joking! I do want the temporary tattoos the models sported on Chanel’s SS 2010 show.

My favorite tattoo is the collarbone tattoo with the birds holding the delicate looking beads. A great way to reinvent any strapless dress!

The intricate floral and beaded designs will be available in a set of 55 individual tattoos for $90 as part of their spring 2010 make-up collection.

Givenchy waves goodbye to couture

Although couture runways will be beginning July 5th, Givenchy will no longer be a part of the show.

The label has announced it is to stop couture catwalk shows in favour of individual client and editor appointments.  The label's couturier Riccardo Tisci will condense the collection into 10 looks and present them in an 18th century town house on the Place Vendome in Paris. He says future collections will be revealed at the label's "couture salons where mini catwalk shows will be held"
I knew this would occur after I received my magazine from the Wall Street Journal
Couture designers are faced with two problems, reports WSJ; "the overall shift of young people everywhere to a more casual style and the fact that many ready-to-wear companies are raising quality and prices, keeping volume how, precisely to lure a new generation of wealthy buyers,"
"Traditional customers are aging or dying leaving many to wonder whether there is a customer base left for couture"
"Couture is more than a product, it's a creative engine for the brand" -WSJ
What will happen when all designers are losing clients and put an end to their couture shows? Who will we thank for the amazing gowns, luscious cuts, silhouettes, and fabrics?
"I want to make couture even more special than it is, and not just another catwalk show," Tisci told WWD. "People can really experience the couture moment - see it, touch it."
"After a crisis, a new era always starts," the designer added. "It's going to be a very good moment for creativity. For couture, it's going to go back to being very exclusive."
There can't be an end to couture. I believe it is the true essence of designer's creativity to step out of the casual-turned world and steer it to the true art of fashion.

Oh shoot...

I like Rebels...
I've got my eye on only one thing this summer...

the Canon EOS XSi Rebel...
working this $ummer will definitely pay off...

I love a little Hollywood rivalry…

Model Agyness Deyn bares it all

People are buzzing about Model Agyness Deyn’s summer cut.
“You can hide behind hair and I felt I’d had enough,” says Deyn. Her new low-to-no-maintenance cut, she says, “It’s fun and easy, and I wanted something new.”
She always manages to pull off anything. Even when long, luscious, locks were rocking down runways, out emerges Agyness, with her short, pixie-cut hair.
Deyn goes down to Freemans’ F.S.C. Barber — the old-school men’s barber/haberdasher stylishly tucked away in an alley on the Lower East Side—and pulled up a chair. “They were like, ‘Agyness, we only do guys’ cuts,’ ” she remembers. “I said, ‘That’s alright. I just want it all off.’ ”
“I feel more feminine, having no hair.” says Deyn.
And she looks stunning.
How will you be cooling off for summer?

I love it!
It looks wigged since I can see the uneven hairlines...

Alexander McQueen- Fall 2010 Ready To Wear collection

The 16 showpieces from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2010 collection presented in Paris, According to WWD, McQueen’s inspirations ranged from Byzantine art and Old Master paintings to the carvings of Grinling Gibbons, and each look was worn with a bronzed cap, some spiked with a Mohawk of gilded leaves like a Roman war helmet.
This was McQueen’s last collection before he took his life. The Gucci Group named Sarah Burton as the label’s new creative chief, as reported in the WSJ. Burton, one of McQueen’s closest friends, joined the fashion house in 1996 and in 2000, McQueen sold a “majority stake” to Gucci Group. Burton was named head of women’s wear.
“The creation of modern beautifully crafted clothes was at the heart Lee’s Vision, I intend to stay true to is legacy”
R.I.P. Alexander McQueen, there was no other like you.
