Stick to Your Roots

these girls rock their fro's in style!
Who says you always need to have long, straight hair? (I know, you must be thinking look who's talking). But honestly, by a show of hands, how many of you truly love and embrace your locks? Too many girls have there hands raised. Particularly curly-haired girls. With weekly perms and japanese hair straightening treatments at easy reach, natural hair is losing its shine.
I mean, look at these girls above, you know they look great!
So embrace every single part of yourself!
You are beautiful. Just sometimes, you have to be reminded ;)

Chic Neutrals

I have yet to add some fringe into my closet! This bag is the perfect bang to this sweet look!
This adorable girl was on her way to meet her friends when I stopped her on the Coney Island boardwalk today as I was trying to get the sand out of my shoes.
I loved her shorts! I am a HUGE fan of shorts and the collar on her pleated shirt was too cute.
You know you can SO see me in this!
Her outfit's from Taiwan, her native country. I think it's time for me to take a little trip...

S W A G.

Just another regular day in St. Marks Place today, I was actually on my way home when me and my friend just decided not to go home and get off Astor Place for no particular reason.
Of course I had my camera with me, already strapped over my shoulder, and there's always fabulous people in St. Marks Place....
STREET STYLE SHOOTING!
I saw these awesome guys across the street and I just had to take a photo of their S W A G.
So 80s, I was loving it! I felt like it was a blast from the hip hop past.
As I was introducing myself and complimenting them on their upmost incredible swag, one of the guys (above left) said to me, "I love bloggers, I have such high respect for them" and then went on to compliment my glasses (people must really love My Oliver Peoples frames! I get complimented on them almost all the time...) They were so friendly!
I was loving the flat top...
the rings...
And I'm in search of a backpack!
I need to find the perfect one!
With so many books to carry in a shoulder bag, my small frame is tilting to one side.
These guys are looking awesome in their backpacks, definitely a trend that I've seen among young people today. When I asked them about this, if they would have seen themselves in these backpacks three years ago, they were hesitant in thought, "I used to always have a Northface, I just got mine last week" one of them replied.
Style spreads like wildfire indeed!

Lipsy London & Bloomingdales

So, I'm savoring probably the best cotton candy ever as I blog about today's newest event.
Lipsy London, the hot British label comes to America!
Specifically, debuting it's collection at Bloomingdale's Soho with special guest, Stephanie Pratt, from MTV reality show, The Hills. While bobbing my head and lip singing to MGMT in between bites of yummy cupcakes and sips okay, more like swigs. I was so thirsty) from Pomegranate Vitamin water, I snapped photos of today's awesome event!
(finishes up cotton candy) I think I've officially spoiled my dinner.

I love cupcakes, they're always served at almost every event!

thank God for the Vitamin  Water they gave out. I was parched all day

Stephanie getting interviewed for MTV News.  This picture is amusing ;)
Make sure to check out the interview at mtv.com/news as Stephanie talks about The Hills to Twilight (seriously, she's a fan! :)

And of course, how could I not take photos of the stylish guests?
loved her feather combination, especially the one earring! and the print tights with those amazing shoes !
shoes in action!
These shoes are to die for! They remind me of Doc Marten clogs...
& some Lipsy London pieces:
I'm calling this the little ballerina dress
loved the orange dress! The intricate design on top was beautiful!

The candy wagon. Also known as Heaven on wheels...
It was like early trick-or-treating ;)

I think I need to make a "Gallery Style" category...

Currently in works of my first documentary (more coming up soon!)  with Reel Lives and The LESGC, I practiced my pitch for my film idea to many people in attendance at an opening for a Cuban art gallery.
The gallery was quite dim, so sorry if the pictures aren't as great quality as usual. I'm not really a fan of flash because it makes the subject and the background so uneven. Natural lighting always works best for me. Unless I had a lighting umbrella (of which I don't).
I had to make some people walk over to stand under the few florescent lights in the apartment looking room. I guess that was when I started biting on my lip when they hesitantly agreed. I don't like to cause discomfort...
Working with the small amount of light I had, I snapped some pictures of some fashionable guests...
Tie dye one-piece? Loving it. I asked to snap her picture while she was nibbling on some of the refreshments at the show.
Loved the girl's shoes on the left. Black is always in.
I definitely  loved the jacket of the girl on the right. The popped collar and her styling really showed that you can wear a big coat without getting swallowed up in it.
I absolutely  loved her frames  and her urban cool  look.  Denim jackets make everything look 10x cooler.

Stephanie Dodes (above), a friend of my teacher for Reel Lives, helped me develop my pitch and ideas for my documentary. She was awesome and it was great to meet her! I look forward to working with her in the future (which I hear I will, soon enough :)

"Probably a thrift store like everything else I get"

This was the response after asking Anna where she got this beautiful, 40s vintage dress.

"You  have to show underneath the sleeves!"
she said while I was trying to find some setting on my camera to make the picture less dark (that doesn't include flash, if you've been paying attention :)
Yes Indeed (pictured above) .

These awesome pants remind me of Stephen Sprouse...
Yes, that's a Canon G11 hanging from her shoulder. Our cameras should become friends :)
